There is a country wide shortage and Carter Blood Care needs your help! 4,000+ blood drives were canceled so far nationwide this month which resulted in blood centers receiving 130,000 fewer donations. If you are feeling healthy and not showing symptoms, Carter Blood Care encourages you to make an appointment to help local patients’ needs. Donate blood here.

Save lives while you are social distancing. People are dropping off pets who can no longer afford them. Hundreds of pets at Dallas Animal Services need a temporary foster or permanent home to avoid euthanizing due to overcapacity. Their most urgent need is seeking fosters for large-sized dogs, but they encourage you to look at all available pets. Foster a pet here or adopt a pet here.

While the North Texas Food Bank works to meet local needs during the COVID-19 crisis, they need wide support of the public. If you are feeling well and able to gather food items, NTFB requests that you consider making it part of their “Focused Food Drive” project. This means that you would work to gather a single type of item to provide to the NTFB. Learn how to volunteer here

Since the coronavirus crisis, there has been a shortage of blood. Donating blood products is essential to community health and the need for blood products is constant. As part of our nation’s critical infrastructure, healthy individuals can still donate in areas that have issued shelter in place declarations. The Red Cross follows the highest

standards of safety and infection control, and volunteer donors are the only source of blood for those in need. Donate blood here. Moreover, they have other volunteer opportunities too! Learn how to volunteer here
