Thank you for reaching out to help. We started DFW COVIDsitters because as future doctors, we have a responsibility to our fellow healthcare workers. These medical professionals on the frontlines who are fighting are our friends and family. We appreciate your desire to sacrifice your time to work together to support our healthcare workers.

However, we want to make sure you all understand the risk.

All the hospital staff are working with COVID-19 patients at a certain capacity. We want you all to be aware that by entering their homes to care for their loved ones, there is a risk to your own health. We do not recommend volunteering if you are in contact with elderly or at-risk populations. Furthermore, we require out volunteers commit to significant social distancing and hygiene standards outside your volunteering commitment to protect both the families of healthcare workers, the community, and you.

Please understand the choice to volunteer with these families is yours.

We are beyond grateful for your efforts, patience, and desire to help during the current crisis. Hoping you all stay safe and healthy during this time.

Why help us?

As this pandemic has been progressing, our healthcare workers are on the frontlines battling this virus. As students, we are in a unique position where we are tied to this community and WE CAN HELP even if we are not on the frontlines by helping our heroes with their childcare needs. Since we have transitioned to online learning, many of us have the ability to support our healthcare workers during these pressing times.
